The Palawan Scientist Transitions to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) Platform
The Editorial Office of The Palawan Scientist is pleased to announce that the journal has officially adopted the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform for manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing, and communication with authors and reviewers.
This transition is part of our continuing efforts to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of the journal's publication process.
Effective June 18, 2026, all new manuscript submissions must be made through the OJS platform. Submitting authors are required to create an account by clicking the Register button before submitting their manuscripts. The previous Google Form submission system has been discontinued and will no longer be used for new submissions.
Important Information for Authors with Existing Submissions
Authors who have previously submitted manuscripts through the Google Form system do not need to resubmit their manuscripts. All existing submissions remain under consideration and will be managed through the OJS platform.
To facilitate this transition, authors with ongoing submissions will receive an email containing their OJS account credentials and instructions for accessing the system. Once their accounts have been activated, all future communications regarding their manuscripts—including editorial decisions, revision requests, reviewer comments, and publication updates—will be conducted exclusively through OJS.
We kindly request authors to regularly monitor their email inboxes, including spam or junk folders, for messages related to their OJS account activation.
If you do not receive your account information on June 06, 2026, please contact the Editorial Office for assistance at palawanscientist.journal@wpu.edu.ph.
Benefits of the OJS Platform
The adoption of OJS will provide authors, reviewers, and editors with:
- A streamlined online submission process;
- Real-time tracking of manuscript status;
- Centralized communication and document management;
- Improved transparency throughout the peer-review process; and
- Enhanced accessibility to journal content and publication records.

For inquiries or technical assistance regarding your account or manuscript submission, please contact: tps.eic@palawanscientist.org or tps.me@palawanscientist.org
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this transition and thank you for your continued support of The Palawan Scientist. We look forward to serving our authors, reviewers, and readers through our new online journal management system.
Sincerely,
The Palawan Scientist
